Unfortunately, harmful coliform bacteria such as E.coli and Salmonella may occur. These bacteria may cause vomiting, diarrhea, dehydration, and in some cases death.</p>
<p>The bacteria appear usually due to sewer contamination, cracks in water piping under ground or animal feces in the drinking water source. How fast the bacteria forms and spread depends on the natural properties in the water. Water has natural properties which protects against bacteria; however, these properties can be severely reduced due to unnatural water processing.</p></div>

<p>Apparently, there is an ecological balance in the water so that the small amounts of E. coli and coliform bacteria from the feces do not have a negative effect on the conditions in the water. Nor on the health and well-being of the fish.</p>

<p>The Norwegian Institute of Publich Health describe: “The problem with contaminated drinking water is likely to increase for years to come if old pipelines are not repaired or replaced at a faster rate. At the current rate of replacement, it is estimated to take about 145 years before all pipelines are improved to a satisfactory quality.”</p></div>
